Blake first became interested in massage therapy as a career after receiving treatment provided a tremendous help overcoming an injury. Since then, he has been building on information acquired through receiving rehabilitative therapies for a variety of injuries to better understand his own health and to better understand the needs of his patients. Blake mainly utilizes Swedish massage and myofascial release techniques to address the wants and needs of his patients in a holistic manner.
He is inspired by water and how it relates to movement, body biomechanics and mental “flow”. Blake’s treatment style is slow, rhythmic and calming by nature but he isn’t afraid to offer deep pressure when needed. His interest in flow comes partly from his work as a visual artist, muralist and art educator as he draws artistic inspiration from anatomy and physiology. Working as an artist also allows him to approach massage treatments in a creative way. He‘s interested in treating patients with chronic pain conditions, depression and anxiety.
When he’s not working he spends his time in nature, eating good food and playing board games.
