Backstory:
I began practicing acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) after a career as an organic farmer in the Fraser Valley, California and Texas. I like to say that I went from cultivating the soil to cultivating the soul.
TCM Education
I studied the intuitive side of TCM through taking a 3 year course in Medical Qi Gong Therapy and Instruction before getting my 4 year Acupuncture and Herbalism degree (RTCMP) at The International College of Chinese Medicine here in Vancouver.
Treatment style
I enjoy the fusion of energetic work with bio-medicine. It gives me great joy to help people restore ease and comfort in their physical bodies, using a variety of TCM modalities including acupuncture, tui na (Chinese massage), cupping and herbalism, grounded in a working knowledge of orthopedics, physiology and anatomy.
Qigong meets Acupuncture
My background in Medical Qi Gong Therapy (Chinese energy work) addresses the emotional and spiritual aspects of health. In TCM we believe that many chronic diseases have their origins in the emotional body. For example, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or digestive upset may have its roots in suppressed anger and frustration. The attitude we have towards our injury or disease plays a critical role in how quickly and thoroughly we recover. Qi Gong fits together with acupuncture like a hand fits into a glove.
Experience
Among the conditions that I have had success in treating are: neck and shoulder issues, lower back pain, joint mobility, arthritis, digestive disorders, neurological issues, depression, stress, anxiety, asthma, insomnia, post-Covid and post-vaccine complications and cancer.
