What type of Massage Therapy will work best for me?

This is hard to tell without a proper assessment by one of our therapists.
Each therapist has their own unique style and expertise and will tailored the session specifically to you.
Each session will incorporate a variety of different methods and techniques.

What type of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) will work best for me?

Our TCM practitioner, Jacob Larmour, will speak with you about what you need and assess which techniques will be most appropriate for you at the time of your appointment.

How do I know if Massage Therapy or TCM  will work for me?

There’s no way to be certain how your body will respond to any specific therapy.

Giving it a try will never leave you in a worse condition than before your treatment.
Talk to your family doctor and get their opinion if you aren’t sure what treatment option (massage, acupuncture, TCM, chiro, physio, etc.) will be most beneficial to you.

Which practitioner should I see?

It is important to find a pracitioner who suits you.

There are several factors: physical practice style, technique, personal interaction, gender, lifestyle understanding, among others.

Please have a read of the bios for each practitioner and, if you want, ask to speak to whoever you think might suit you.

It may take a few tries to find your "best fit" therapist.

How do I know if I’m covered under the BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) ?

What will my Extended Health Insurance benefits cover?

We do not have access to the details of your coverage and, since every insurance provider is different, you will need to call and find out if, or to what extent, you are covered for massage therapy & acupuncture / TCM services.

Ask questions.

What therapies & / or practitioners are covered?  Is there an annual dollar limit of coverage?  Is there a deductible for the first visit?  Is there a point at which I need a doctor's referral to continue to use my benefits?

Do I need a Doctors Referral for Massage Therapy?

No, you do not need a Doctors referral to receive Massage Therapy.

However, some insurance providers, including ICBC, require a doctor’s referral in order to be reimbursed for Massage Therapy services.
If you are unsure whether your provider requires a doctor’s referral, it is strongly encouraged that you confirm this with them before booking an appointment.
